Who am I? Who the hell are you??
So I used to run a sports blog, Wicked Pissah Weekly, that was fairly successful and it just sort of fizzled out like a lot of things do.
So I graduated college in 2016 not entirely knowing what I wanted to do. I guess my original quest was to always become a sports writer so that was in the front of my mind for awhile. Nonetheless, I spent the next year working full time for my dad and brother’s construction company. Fun times…not really.
Over this time I spent time looking into sports writing options in the area and finally found one that peeked my interest, writing for the Falmouth Commodores in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Being the beat writer for the Falmouth Commodores was one of the best experiences I ever had. I met some great people, learned a ton, and got to cover some of the MLB’s next great talent in Cape Cod.
In August, when that was over, I became a correspondent for a group of local newspapers on the south shore of Massachusetts. I began covering high school football across the area and then in the winter I was the beat writer for the Hingham Harbormen hockey team, one of the best high school hockey teams in the state.
Due to a couple of circumstances I was then “called up” to become an editor for the same newspaper group and that’s where I am now. I manage the sports sections for three towns in Massachusetts and I’m continuing to learn so much.
So in my spare time I wanted to have another go at blogging so I contacted my old friend and college roommate Dallan. He lives in Pennsylvania but I’m pretty sure his heart is still in Boston. We spend the late hours of the day on Xbox live yelling at each other and playing video games.
I love the idea of covering sports on the blog but we have so many more interests that should be discussed. I like how a blog like Barstool has gone from talking about mainly sports to discussing video games, movies, and other nerdy things. It really stretches out your audience.
On The Outpost, we’ll be shooting the shit and giving our thoughts on sports, video games, movies, tv shows, and pretty much anything we can think of.
Strap in, it’s sure to be a wild ride.
PS: Dallan called me a “very fragile man”. Feel free to say whatever you want. I’d say I’m kind of like a Drake’s coffee cake. I’ll crumble here and there and I’m sort of all over the place, but I usually satisfy.
